Objectives of the Competent Crew Course

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

Know sailing theory and practical rules for good sailing navigation.
Practice the maneuvers of a sailing boat, in order to be able to sail with autonomy and safety.

Contents:

Nautical knots
Sailing theory
Moorings
Rigging the boat
Maneuvering at the dock
Hoist / Lower the Mainsail
Roll / Unroll the Genoa
Tacking
Jibing with Mainsail and/or Genoa
Reefing the Mainsail and Rolling the Genoa
Refloating after grounding
Man overboard

Objectives of the Day Skipper Course

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

Participate in and maneuver a sailing boat in a cruising sailing regatta on the Tagus River.

Contents:

Practice of the subjects taught in the introductory cruising sailing course.
Hoist /lower the Spinnaker (Spin or Spi)
Sailing regatta rules (Portuguese Sailing Yacht Federation)
